Dan Woods recently retired from pastoring and currently serves the International Pentecostal Holiness Church as a preacher, teacher, and historian. He directs the North Carolina Conference School and recently taught at Southwestern Christian University Graduate School. His most recent book is Fire-Baptized: The Many Lives of Benjamin Hardin Irwin (co-authored with Vinson Synan). Dan has more than three decades of pastoral experience and holds Faculty Emeritus status at Ferrum College, where he taught History from 1982 to 2014. He studied at Emmanuel College, Roanoke College, the University of Georgia, the University of Mississippi, and Yale University. Dan loves trains, hiking trails, working in the yard, and exploring old industrial sites. He and his wife Gwendolyn have five children and five grandchildren. Both as a pastor and a scholar, Dan consistently highlights the need to keep pentecostal power, sanctified living, and endtime evangelism intimately connected.
